Master of Science in Economics of Globalisation and European Integration
The Master in Economics of Globalisation and European Integration (EGEI) is a two-year (120 ECTS) fully English-taught programme, embedded in a truly global learning environment. It meets an increasing demand for graduates who have the skills to analyse issues of globalisation and economic integration competently, and make relevant policy or strategic recommendations in the public and private sectors.
Open Days
Each spring there is a Graduation Fair. It consists of a job fair (with more than 200 different companies) and a postgrad/master fair.

Additional Information on Admission (Flemish Degree)
Holders of one of the above-mentioned diplomas who wish to follow the programme must follow the admission procedure that runs through UGent and whereby admission is granted via the programme's Consortium Board. The admission procedure is mentioned on the following web page: https://www.master-egei.eu/how-to-apply/ . There are different deadlines for students who apply for an EMJMD scholarship (before 1 March of the previous academic year) and for those who do not (before 1 June of the previous academic year).

Language requirements
Language requirements for this study programme differ from the required standard level for English taught study programmes as specified in the Ghent University Education and Examination Code:
English: B2-level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages in English, issued by a university language centre, is required to enter the Programme.
The proficiency in English of the students is checked by submitting proof of a computer-based TOEFL level of minimum 90, or an IELTS grade of at least 6.5, or should submit proof of having studied at least a sufficient number of credits in an English-language programme. The proficiency in English of applicants can be checked also during the selection process by the JBS using direct interviews or through the administration of tests.
Flexible trajectories
Flexible trajectories refers to alternative ways of following our courses. It might mean that a course can be spread in time as to allow the combination of work and studying, or that students with special needs get the support they need to allow a successful study career.
An international experience
The first semester takes place in France or China and provides you a strong background in economic theory and quantitative methods as well as solid knowledge in international law and business. During the second semester (in Belgium), you will deepen your knowledge in the area of economics of globalisation and European Integration. Furthermore you will start working on you master dissertation. During the third semester, you will specialize in one of the four specialization tracks that are available. The location depends on your chosen specialization: International economic policy in Tartu (Estonia), Economic and financial issues in the EU in Santander (Spain), Economics and business of globalisation in Bari (Italy) or Globalisation and emerging market economies in Valparaiso (Chile).
