Final Competences of the Study Programme
1. Integrating subject-specific knowledge, understanding and skills of the specialism in the complex practice of health care.
2. Applying the principles of medical informatics in order to develop the problem-solving ability and to reflect on the own specialist knowledge and skills.
3. Integrating scientifically based knowledge in the exercise of the professional acts with a multi-focused look.
4. Providing effective and ethical patient care with integrity and committed way.
5. Paying attention to patient safety and quality of care in a multicultural society.
6. Contributing to an effective interdisciplinary cooperation in an adequate personal and inter-professional manner.
7. Coping with health economic aspects and relevant legal provisions to obtain societal responsible specialized care.

Departures from the Scheduled Academic Calendar for this Study Programme
The educational activities of all course units (all full-year course units) can take place during the week of catch-up activities of the first term and during the first-term examination period (except on the closing dates mentioned in the education and examination code art. 2 §4). End-of-term assessment in the first term continue of beginning March to the end of the second-term examination period, except on the closing dates mentioned in the education and examination code art. 2 §4.
Educational activities can take place during this period, but it is the responsibility of the study programme committee to ensure a sufficient and equitable spread between the educational activities and the end-of-term assessment; these educational activities take anyhow place in the regular periods, as stipulated by the education and examination code barring exceptions approved by the Executive Board.
End-of-term assessment in the second term continue of the beginning of the resit examination period to the end of academic year.

The study programme complies with the European Council Directive 2005/36/EC, and specifically with Title III, Chapter III, Section 2, article 25. Moreover, also the MB of 23/04/2014 establishing the general criteria for the recognition of medical specialists as amended applies.
