Final Competences of the Study Programme
- Having a basic knowledge and understanding of the main principles and structures of the current Belgian law on specific contracts.
- Being able to trace legal information and to process it in a scientific manner.
- Understanding specific legal terms related to the subject matter in Dutch and French.
- Being able to explain orally legal terms and notions accurately and to give an elementary legal reasoning.
- Being able to explain legal terms and notions accurately and to give an elementary legal reasoning.
- Being prepared to study on their own and to a lifetime of learning from one’s experience.
- Adopt a critical attitude towards loopholes in the law.
- Keeping an open mind about and searching for possibilities to bring the legislation up to date and to improve it.
- Being aware that specific contracts are an instrument in the economy (sale, commercial lease, contracting for work, agency) and in the social intercourses (consumer law, lease in general, residential lease, compromise).
- Understanding the influence of economic, sociological and political factors on law.
- Knowledge of the methods of legal science and legal practice.
- Being able to analyse case law in detecting the relevant facts and qualifying juridical problems.
