What

Courses that cover the same theme are grouped together to make selection easier for exchange students.

Courses in this cluster focus on manifestations of culture in four areas: anthropology and religious studies, area studies (i.e. non-European history), European cultural history, and history of literature. This allows students to get a broad view on culture by combining courses from all four areas, or to deepen their knowledge of one of them.

Structure

The workload is 30 ECTS credits per semester or 60 ECTS credits per year. You will need to select a study programme of at least 20 ECTS credits, 60% of which is offered by the faculty of Arts and Philosophy. It is not necessary to limit yourself to a single exchange programme; courses from different programmes may be combined.

It may also be interesting to consult the courses at other Ghent University faculties, such as the faculty of Political and Social Sciences and the faculty of Economics and Business Administration, as they offer courses that may be relevant to your home degree.
