Learning outcomes

Analyse and evaluate current (inter)national scientific literature for management and policy aspects for the optimisation of (research in) management and policy in the health care sector.

Process, analyse, interpret, assess and report on empirically obtained research outcomes in a correct manner.

Independently and in close collaboration with relevant actors, develop a complex scientific question in the field of management and policy in health care, with attention to ethical and normative aspects.

Use integrated insight into the functional domains and theories of management in the analysis and assessment of complex management and policy problems in the health care sector.

To apply current insights and (inter)national evolutions in the economic, legal and social context of health care in the analysis of complex management problems and policy aspects and the elaboration of policy and business changes.

Critically analyse and explain complex financial-economic, healthcare-economic, organisational and policy aspects.

Analyse and implement a change process in an organisation.

Report both in writing and orally in a clear and critical manner to colleagues and non-colleagues in the management sciences in health care

Multidisciplinary work on a problem in the management and policy of health care, taking into account economic, ethical and legal principles

Take a critical and informed view with respect to a complex problem regarding the management and policy of the health care sector.

Exhibit an investigative attitude, scientific curiosity and an openness towards lifelong learning in order to make a contribution to the improved functioning of (an organisation in) the health care sector.

Provide a framework for developments in the health care sector and make a creative contribution to the social debate regarding the management and policy of the health care sector.

Apply, in an evidence-based manner, the principles of quality care, quality assurance and quality improvement with attention for the patient and client in health care.

Integrate the basic principles of entrepreneurship and leadership in the functioning of an organisation in the health care sector.
