Learning outcomes

Competence field 1: Competences in one/more scientific discipline(s)

Understand the basic sciences and basic engineering sciences and have the ability to apply them in an innovative, practical and target‐oriented way within the own field of engineering.
Use of professional and applicable methods and techniques in an innovative and target‐oriented way.
Use of standard calculation methods to dimension and design classical constructions in the usual materials.
Fundamental knowledge and understanding of the properties and behaviour of materials (including their technology) in simple designs and civil constructions.
Fundamental knowledge of the behaviour of soil and apply them to simple foundation problems.
Integrated application of fundamental knowledge of structural aspects and building physics on case studies.
Understanding the importance of environmental aspects in civil engineering.
Fundamental understanding of transport phenomena and in particular the flow of water. Employed on the identification, reasoning and the application on classical design problems.
Basic knowledge of topografic surveying techniques.

Correct use of standard models, research methods and techniques in assignments.
Schematize and model experiments, processes and/or systems and test these in an actual context.
