Orthodontics is that part of dentistry that focuses on the correction of the teeth position and malocclusions of the dentition.
During the first year, the subjects are related to orthodontic therapy. Furthermore, courses on facial growth are related to orthopaedics and orthodontics. Some development and growth disorders and syndromes related to the head region as well as craniomandibular dysfunctions are addressed during the courses.
The second year is largely a continuation of the first year, but includes some practical aspects which are important in the conduct of running an orthodontic practice. Also, the long-term effects of orthodontic and orthopaedic therapy are extensively addressed.
The third and fourth year are predominantly based on the clinical treatment of orthodontic patients and the preparation of the final clinical examination, which involves the presentation of twenty treated cases in front of an interuniversitary commission.
