Applying knowledge, insight and engineering skills within future-proof plant and/or animal production systems, with attention to nutrient cycles and management, biodiversity and system robustness, while taking into account the relevant legislative and policy framework.

Critically analysing and optimising production processes within agriculture and horticulture, with attention to sustainability, quality, economic feasibility, and ecological resilience.

Identifying and selecting relevant scientific and technical literature, critically evaluating and synthesising sources within a (bio)scientific and international context, and reporting in accordance with academic referencing standards.

Independently and methodologically designing, conducting and analysing scientific experiments, critically reflecting on data quality, correctly interpreting results within a relevant agricultural and horticultural context, and doing so with respect for scientific integrity.

Independently planning en executing a well-defined engineering project in agriculture and horticulture, from problem definition to technically feasible, creative, and context-aware solutions.
