Competence field 7: Program-specific Learning Outcomes
- Has advanced insight into recent general sociological theory and into subfields of sociology
- Has insight into the relevance and limitations of general and specialized sociological theories and approaches and can make research choices based on them.
- Can develop scientifically grounded and well-considered insights and policy reflections on contemporary societal phenomena and problems.
- Has insight into advanced data collection methods and analytical techniques of qualitative and/or quantitative research, can apply them responsibly, and correctly interpret their results.
- Can independently carry out all steps in an integrated fundamental scientific and/or policy-relevant study of societal phenomena or problems, can integrate up-to-date specialist work, and can adjust that work based on feedback.
- Can correctly carry out and report scientific assignments in accordance with the principles of scientific integrity.
- Can communicate clearly and transparently, both orally and in writing, about advanced sociological insights and the results of complex research, to professionals (peers and policy actors) as well as to a broader audience, while using AI in an ethical and critical manner.
- Can, as an active member of a group, collaborate constructively on complex sociological research and adjust the working approach based on self-reflection and feedback.
