Competence field 1: Competence in one or more scientific disciplines
- Apply advanced knowledge of theories, models, bounds, methods, techniques, processes and applications of mathematics to analyze and solve new or complex theoretical or applied problems.
- Have specialized knowledge related to a major (pure mathematics, mathematical physics, applied mathematics) and use this knowledge in an innovative and creative way.
- Use mathematics related technological tools (such as domain specific software packages) in advanced problems and research, self-employedly and constructively.
- Understand the consistency with other relevant scientific fields and subfields and be able to involve them in more sophisticated ideas and applications.
- Thoroughly demonstrate an understanding of the latest scientific developments of at least one of the aspects of the major in the mathematics programme.
- Independently analyze complex and specialized mathematical questions and substantiate with precise evidence.
- Major Pure Mathematics: Master and use in an innovative way specialized logical, combinatorial, algebraic, geometric and analytical methods.
