Competentiegebied 1: Competentie in één of meerdere wetenschappen
- Possess an advanced knowledge of international business law, its rules, concepts, and core principles as well as the central institutions.
- Have, where appropriate, a basic knowledge of the relevant parts of other scientific domains such as economics, finance and politics.
- Have special and applied knowledge about disciplines of dispute resolution with an international dimension, such as international commercial arbitration and some familiarity with negotiation techniques.
- Have knowledge of the interplay between national, EU and international legal rules and institutions as relevant for the business context.
- Have knowledge of political, economic, cultural… background to issues of the regulation and organization of international business.
- The ability to use, with scientific rigor, legal texts in English in the process of analysing and solving complex problems.
- Formulating a defensible legal reasoning in order to analyse and solve complex legal problems.
- The ability to formulate independently and to answer a scientific research question, or to operationalize and answer a given research question.
- Identifying and qualifying relevant legal facts and to adequately and critically formulate legal issues in complex cases.
- Having knowledge and insight into the comparative study of law.
- Being able to assess correctly the value of legal sources and an analysis of these sources.
- Being able to make comparative analysis of legal concepts originating from different legal systems.
