Competence field 1: Competency in one or more scientific disciplines
- Possess advanced, application-oriented, knowledge of the own engineering discipline and the ability to apply this knowledge in a creative and critical way to new problems.
- Be able to design, implement and test innovative products or processes using appropriate, current methods and techniques, using recent digital technologies.
- Demonstrate integrative and system-oriented problem-solving thinking, with emphasis on the application in variable contexts.
- Be able to formulate a research question from a complex technical problem, after consulting relevant and state-of-the-art scientific sources.
- Be able to critically interpret and communicate one's own results to both experts and laypersons and defend decisions made.
