Competentiegebied 1: Compentielijst
- Have insight into the diversity of worldwide production of aquatic food organisms, and understand their underlying biological processes
- Have practical experience in production of aquatic organisms and their live feeds
- Identify and analyze interactions of the species in aquatic food production systems and their biotic and abiotic environment, and implement prophylactic and/or mitigating interventions
- Integrate aquatic biological production systems within their socio-economic context, and relate this with the practicalities and organization of commercial ventures
- Design and implement strategies for future development in aquaculture in congruence with SDG’s (sustainable development goals)
- Understand the ethical implications of animal production and experimentation, and act correspondingly when designing and executing tests with aquatic animals
- Have a rigid scientific approach enabling to formulate and test hypotheses, to design research protocols, and to collect and analyze data
- Have the necessary skills and attitudes to interact with peers, with various stakeholders in the aquaculture sector, and with a general public concerning personal research, thoughts, ideas, and research proposals, both written and orally
